Greathouse of Music is happy to offer a number of folk music albums for our fans to enjoy. Some of these include:

Potpurri –  Originals #5 from Prague, Czech Republic

This album recorded in Prague features selections emphasizing a melody performed by solo piano, solo voice, band, and full choir with genres ranging from ragtime, slow fox, blues, and mood melodies to religious choir pieces.

Originals #4 From Prague, Czech Republic 

This album contains a wide variety of melodic “moods”.  There is a blues number, a rag, a waltz and a couple of dreamy pieces for contemplation as well.  There is even a violin, oboe and harp ensemble.

For those of you who like melodic piano music with a hint of the past – maybe the 20's and 30's – here is another in the series "Originals from Prague." These beautiful, original tunes will stick in your mind, guaranteed. Included are two vocals.

A collection of original compositions by Mark L. Greathouse: fourteen melodic piano pieces for quiet reflection with two vocal numbers sung by Helena Greathouse. All pieces are played by renowned Czech artist Daniel Wiesner. There is also a choral piece recorded live in Prague.

This CD is a collection of original compositions by Mark L. Greathouse: fourteen melodic piano pieces played by renowned Czech pianist Daniel Wiesner, some of which even resemble parlor music and ragtime with that roaring 20's feel. There are also two of Mark's vocal numbers sung by Helena Greathouse, one a lyrical love song and the other filled with fun.

Czech and Slovak Folk Music

This CD is a collection of Czech and Slovak folk songs, including four Christmas carols. These songs are hundreds of years old, and some depict the life of the area where they originated. Most were composed by the very people who lived and worked on the land. The composers are unknown. The subjects often deal with agriculture, boyfriends, girlfriends, daily activities in the villages, wine and beer, celebrations, weddings, etc.

Across the Board

Across the Board consists of vocal selections alternating with original piano pieces by Mark L. Greathouse. The vocal pieces sung by Helena Greathouse range from eastern European folksongs to contemporary works to selections from musicals by Marilyn Olson to a classical operatic aria.

Fun & Unique Compositions

One of the things that sets Greathouse of Music apart is our unique and original compositions and dance choreography. We focus on blending traditional folk styles with modern and contemporary styles to create a unique sound for our listeners. We also seek influence from many of the great musical eras and genres such as ragtime, vaudeville, and cabaret. 
We also believe in music education and offer two books to showcase our original music and dance. With our dance books, anyone can learn to have fun while they move, allowing for an enjoyable way to stay active.
